Unni Mukundan : Beats Up Ex-Manager Out of Frustration Over Lack of Films
Unni Mukundan in Controversy
A major news has emerged about Malayalam action thriller Marco fame Unni Mukundan. The actor’s ex-manager Vipin Kumar has leveled serious accusations against him. Following this, Mukundan seems to be caught in trouble. Vipin Kumar has accused him of physical and verbal abuse and has filed complaints against the actor with FEFKA (Film Employees Federation of Kerala) and AMMA (Association of Malayalam Movie Artists).
Trouble for Unni Mukundan
Vipin Kumar stated that Unni Mukundan called him to a parking area and physically assaulted him while using abusive language. Vipin said Mukundan hit him so hard that he sustained multiple injuries and had to seek medical treatment at a hospital. According to Vipin, the reason behind the altercation was the actor’s frustration over not getting film offers for the past few months. Despite the success of Marco, Mukundan was not getting new movies.
Vipin explained
“I am a promotion consultant. I do PR for films and for several actors. I had done promotional work for Tovino Thomas’ film Narivetta. I posted something praising that film, which Mukundan did not like. So, he called me at night and told me not to work for him anymore. I said okay, I am not a paid manager; I am a PR consultant and have worked on many films, which he knows.”
Assault in Parking Area
Vipin Kumar has filed a complaint against the actor at Info Park police station in Kochi. He said, “Unni called me to the parking area of the building where I live. There, after verbally abusing me, he physically attacked me. I have been working with him for the past 6 years. Since Marco, he has been frustrated due to the lack of good film offers.”
He added, “His film Get Set Baby flopped at the box office. Since then, he has stopped getting work. He was planning to direct a film that was to be produced by Gokulam Films, but he withdrew from the project. The anger of not getting work started to be taken out on those around him. Now, he has no one left. I could tolerate things to a limit, but now I cannot endure anymore.”
Not His First Controversy
This is not the first time Unni Mukundan has been embroiled in controversy. Earlier, in 2018, a woman had accused him of sexual harassment.
